The department of clinical evaluations of the pharmacy, responsible for the pharmaceutical part of clinical evaluations, co-operates with the Department of Clinical Evaluations and individual investigators. The work of the pharmacy is regularly monitored by the sponsors of the particular evaluations, ensuring that the pharmacy meets the requirements defined by the sponsor.more »
The pharmacy is responsible for drugs used in clinical evaluations, i.e. their correct storage, dispensation and keeping records on their use as defined in particular evaluations. All pharmacists and technicians participate in clinical evluations, actively taking part in this branch of research.
The clinical evaluations include:
- phase I evaluations – concerning the safety, tolerance, toxicity, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of new drugs
- phase II evaluations – concerning suitable dosing regimen and testing of efficiency
- phase III evaluations – concerning the efficiency of a new drug or testing of marketed drug for new diagnosis, comparing the efficiency with standard treatment or placebo
All clinical evaluations are run according to valid Czech, EU or other laws and are checked by particular ethical committees and drug authorities.
